Day 1 Intro - Cycle
Meet at Lancaster Castle, Lancaster at 08.30am for a full Bike Check,you will have the chance for a photo at the historic Lancaster Castle, before embarking on a day’s cycling through the beautiful countryside of Lancashire and Cumbria heading for your destination of Coniston taking in the quaint villages of Caton, Over Kellet and Arnside where you will stop for lunch. You will then head for Coniston via the Windermere Ferry and Far Sawrey where Beatrix Potter lived and then drop into your destination of Coniston, and a much-needed rest and re-fuel for your canoeing trip around the famous lake of Coniston.

Day 2 - Canoe
After your great Cumbrian breakfast and a good night’s sleep you will embark on your voyage on the lake made famous by Donald Campbell and Bluebird. Once you get to the far end of the lake you will stop for a spot of lunch and take in the ambiance of your surroundings. After lunch you will head back to Coniston stopping off at Peel Island made famous by Arthur Randsome, the author of Swallows and Amazons, and known as Wild Cat Island.

After a great day on the water of Coniston, it’s time to get your walking shoes on and get yourself ready to climb the Famous Old Man Of Coniston. You will set off from the church in the centre of Coniston and head up to Levers Water past the old copper mine before ascending the north side of the Old Man to the summit. Once at the top you will take in the great views of Cumbria and beyond and give yourself a pat on the back for your great achievement on an epic journey. After this you will descend back to the hotel for a well-deserved beverage and a good old reminisce of your journey which we hope inspires you to take one of our other routes in the future.
